The 2026 Environmental Science Research Competition Winners!
In the 2026 Environmental Science Research Poster Competition, our 4th–6th grade students became young environmental scientists, taking on the challenge of exploring air quality and the atmosphere around us. They asked big questions about where air pollution comes from, how it affects people and the planet, and what we can do to help. Through colorful posters, creative ideas, and real research, students shared what they learned and showed how even small actions can make a big difference for our environment. Below are the posters!
First Place (Tied)
The Epee Nerds: Bryan, Kyle, Isabelle
“Our team talked about Indoor Air Pollution and about what are the major sources of it and what can we do to prevent it.”

First Place (Tied)
Freda Chang
“I would like to have a dog, but my dad has allergies. When air quality is poor, he sneezes, gets itchy eyes, and feels uncomfortable. I learned dust and pet fur can float in the air and affect people’s health, like cause allergy. So I studied how dust changes in different places and if cleaning improves air quality. My goal was to learn how clean air can help protect my dad’s health and reduce allergy problems, and what to do after having a dog!”

Third Place
Grace Wong
Grace did “research on ozone depletion.”

Honorable Mention
Abbey Chang
Abbey researched “raising awareness on the effects of air pollution.”

Thank you to everyone who participated in Environmental Science Research Competition!
